THE MOST AUDACIOUS ENDURANCE PROJECT EVER CONCEIVED IN LONDON. ARC PROJECT: THE TREADMILL FACTORY.

(ARC Project, 2026)

LONDON’S FIRST 24-HOUR TREADMILL RELAY.

They call the 4th ARC Project (AP4) a rebellion against the sickness, the sickness created by our society’s shallowness and distraction of the modern world. A rebellion like the Roman Revolution, a decommissioned tank factory as their Colosseum, this Trojan horse created their own siege of treadmills to see which group of gladiators can come out on top when they’re faced with a fight to the depths. 50 teams, 50 treadmills, 4 runners per team, relay for 24 hours in the factory fitted with £450k+ of equipment to create a 24 hour psychedelic simulation of light and sound.

“A race at the intersection of endurance and philosophy. With one goal… To forcibly interrupt the mundanity of everyday life. And take the runner on a psychedelic trip, with no drugs. And deliver them back to default reality… More aware of the everyday that attempts to eat us all. A race never before attempted…And likely never repeated.” (Arc Project, 2026)

Like something out of Entergalatic, the cacophonous sounds are sending these teams on a psychedelic trip to the trenches. A mandatory 50:50 gender split per team, AP4 represents the revolution we’re trying to see when Paige Bueckers throws an alley-oop to Anthony Edwards for a showtime dunk. Phones left at the door, music not enough to drown the surround sound, streets call this one an interruption to everyday life, an ace up their sleeve, creating a battle between you and the treadmill like Aomine said, the only one who can beat me is me, and AP4 are the uncrowned kings discovering their generation of miracles.

THE DISAPPEARANCE OF TIME IN THE TREADMILL FACTORY.

A distortion of the natural world where the factory would explode with white lights before going Back in Black, this Highway to Hell had the runners shouting out, You Shook Me All Night Long running through darkness as time disappeared. The Salty Boys Athletic Club pulled up on smoke with a team of sub-3 marathoners, ultrarunners and an aura to match the tunnel walk of a prime Golden State Warriors dynasty to show they were coming for it all and leaving NOTHING LEFT UNCLAIMED. A military, rapid fire strategy of 3 minute rotations every 45 minutes showed how one could conquer the Treadmill Factory. That being said, as time disappeared and lights went AWOL, the endurance project became more like Berghain, and the techno tacticians modelled one-of-a-kind environments that created complete disorientation and immense focus. 24 hours later the Salty Boys left with 285.7km under their belt, and the crown jewels of AP4 to represent the conquer of a simulation.
